September brought some much needed rain late in the month after going quite some time without any measurable precipitation. The birds that are usually here at this time of year seemed to only appear occasionally. It has been a strange year for sure. Below are some of the birds that visited here during the month

Well it's been a long hot unusual summer here in Kentucky. Many of our birds have had to endure the stress of the very hot and humid weather. That along with heavy rains that have turned my homestead into what seems like a rain forrest. Shown below are some of the birds I've captured during the past 3 months. Hope you enjoy.

Spring Migration

Spring migration is at it's peak now. The Warblers are moving north through here in good numbers. I have seen quite a few almost every day. We have had a large amount of rain this spring and that cuts down on the days I can go out and take photos but, I have gotten quite a few as shown below. As we get toward the end of the month things will slow down quite a bit.I am sure. We had some of the regulars show up and enjoy the seed at the feeders. The indigos, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, House Finch, American Goldfinch and the Siskins have shown up in numbers. The Woodpeckers are busy feeding their young and the Summer Tanager is calling every mourning. The Flycatchers are keeping the bugs out of the yard.

Seems like everyone is enjoying the spring.
